FAQ
What Types of Cases Do You Handle?
We handle product liability cases involving defective automobiles, vehicles, trucks, and mobile industrial/farm equipment. We help clients with negligence and wrongful death claims from auto accidents, semi-truck accidents, construction and work accidents, medical professionals and nursing homes, explosions and electrocutions.
We also help commercial groups with first party insurance claims for storm, wind, water and other damage to their real property such as manufacturing plants, shopping centers, schools, hotels, churches, and warehouses.
Where Do You Practice?
Our offices are in Missouri, but we practice all over the country. Our lawyers are licensed in Missouri, Kansas, Texas, New Mexico and Nevada. We are admitted in federal courts in several of other states. We work with attorneys all over the country and have litigated cases in many states not listed above.
How Long Do I Have to File My Lawsuit?
It depends on which state’s laws apply to your case. In some states, you only have one year to file from the date of the accident, other states may be longer. Certain types of claims require notice to some parties that may be as short as 30 or 60 days. It is best to call the lawyers at Sifers Jensen Palmer immediately so we can discuss your case and determine when you must file. It is also important so we can preserve evidence related to your case as soon as possible.
Do I Have to Pay Anything up Front?
No. We do not charge you to discuss your case. It is free. If we decide to take your case, we will enter into a written agreement with you and explain it to you. Except for some commercial insurance cases, we handle almost everything on a contingent fee contract, which means we only get paid when you do. If we do not recover for you, you do not owe us any attorney’s fees.
A contingent fee contract means we take a percentage of your judgment or settlement and you do not have to ever pay us any money out of your own pocket. We will put the percentage we charge in writing to you in the agreement so you will know from the beginning of your case what percentage you will receive and what we will receive. No secret fees or hidden charges.
